Burberry have brought in Harry Potter star and aspiring fashionista Emma Watson to represent their brand, and the decision seems to have been a match made in tartan heaven. I have to admit that I've often seen Burberry as more of a middle-aged brand, but Emma looks absolutely adorable in the this video and the clothes and accessories look every bit as youthful and fresh as she does here.
Speculation is growing this week that Lily Allen might take her new-found modelling career to the next level by stepping onto the runway for the Chanel show in Paris next Tuesday. Why? Because she is the face of the label's new Cocoon handbag campaign of course! The popette was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself especially for the ads featuring oversized duvet and padded quilt bags. If you haven't already seen the campaign, then click play on the video above - it also includes behind-the-scenes footage of the starlet workin' it.
Ever since Madonna hit the red carpet at the Met Gala in those Louis Vuitton bunny ears, many have been left curious about them. Now, in this behind-the-scenes video of the label's autumn/winter 2009 campaign, Marc Jacobs gives us the lowdown: "There's a girl who works for us, Lucy, she's on the design team, and Adrian, one of the boys, was tying a little bit of fabric around and it reminded me of bunny. We were thinking of all these different things like can-can dancers, and I saw this piece of fabric wrapped around Lucy's head and said, 'Bunny ears, that's what we need to finish this look.' So we made all these radzimir bunny ears and that's how it happened. I like the kind of Playboy, French coquette aspect to it."
One of my friends visited London over the weekend and after returning from Spitalfields Market out east, regaled me with tales of an amazing umbrella which featured the London skyline and which changed colour when exposed to water. I have since learned that I missed out on the launch of Squidarellas™, an "interactive umbrella design concept" by Viviane Jaeger and Emma-Jane Parkes of Squid London... and now I really, really, really want one (and yes, while the sun has switched on for the moment, how long it will last into the UK summer is debatable!) They are now being sold at at The Tate art galleries in London and Liverpool. Check out the video above to see how it works.
Is it just me, or after watching this music vid by Brain Slaves (formerly The Coshercot Honeys), did you also have a burning desire to wear a safari hat all summer long? Perhaps you were instead picturing yourself in a black pork-pie hat (or alternatively, a bowler Sienna Miller-style?) Whatever your hat preference, you're sure to get hat-inspired after watching this....
It's a horrible feeling loving and wanting a bag but not having the confidence to be able to talk about it to your friends or go into the store and purchase it for fear of mispronouncing the designer's name. I'm the first to put my hand up and say, despite giving it my best effort, I'm definitely not an expert - my French in particular is a bit lacking!
Luckily I have Catwalk Queen ed (and fluent French speaker) Isabelle in the office to tutor me, but I know there are plenty of you at home without an Iso in your life. And so, we created this video to help you out... that way, when you do walk into the Yves Saint Laurent boutique to pick out your Downtown or your Tribute, you will feel completely confident to do so *wink* Let us know if there are any other tricky ones you want to see included and we'll try for a sequel...
Some would say Lady Gaga is already off-the-planet, but in this "orbital hat" by London milliner Nasir Mazhar, she looks closer to that than ever before. The singer made an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres' US chat show where she almost took the hostess out when she leaned in to greet her and then went on to explain it was a barrier - "my GaGa barrier". Erm, okay then...
