Get the runway and front row fur look with Peacock's faux fur scarves

peacocks_faux_fur_scarf.jpg

A touch of (faux) fur is currently the way to really amp up your cold weather look by adding some extra texture and interest. And if we take a cue from the front rowers at the international fashion weeks (above left) and trendsetter Rumi of Fashion Toast (centre), we can actually even start trying out this look now while it's still cold enough.

The great part about it is this will continue to be big news next autumn/winter, judging by the prevalence of fur on the runways (like at Dolce & Gabbana, above right), so we can safely store the pieces away for next winter and be one step ahead of the pack. Ha! How smart are we?!

Peacocks are currently stocking these faux fur scarves for only 6 quid, which are great for adding that extra texture to your outfit (and not to mention, warmth).

GET THE LOOK: Chelsy Davy's Moroccan pashmina scarf

getthelook_chelsy_davy_pashmina_scarf.jpg

Yesterday I mentioned how I admired Chelsy Davy's pulled-together look in the wake of her break-up with Prince Harry, and key to this outfit is her pretty Moroccan scarf. While you might not have a Moroccan holiday lined up anytime soon, the good news is you can still find yourself a gorgeous pashmina scarf like this one.

My personal recommendation would be to check out some markets or street stalls, since they seem to do some great versions for great prices and always have a wide selection. However, if you're not near any markets or are running short on shopping time, then ASOS are doing a jersey one in a lovely Indian paisley print for £17.75.

Crumpet cashmere heart scarf from ASOS

crumpet_cashmere_heart_scarf.jpg

Gah, the emails about Valentine's Day products/treatments/pressies from PRs are coming in thick and fast now (looking through my emails though - the ones NOT deleted - the first one I received was on the 9 December last year!) And therefore, I am starting to find myself turning into more and more of a Valentine's Grinch. Oh come on, you know you have those years where you feel the same way too!

But what could have me changing my mind and getting more into the spirit, are these cute cashmere and silk scarves by Crumpet. You can choose between either pink/red or green/blue, and as you can see, they add a great pop of colour to your outfit as well as keeping your neck snuggly and warm. It's £145 from ASOS, but I'm so infatuated with them, it would be worth every penny to me xx

Get your designer Obama accessories ahead of presidential inauguration

obama_inauguration_totes.jpg

For our American readers, and certainly a lot of us in the rest of the world, January 20, 2009 is a date which cannot come quick enough. To celebrate the presidential inauguration, some of our favourite American designers have been inspired to create Barack Obama official merchandise as part of the "Runway to Change" initiative.

Even though he's not my president, I'm thinking about purchasing Alexander Wang's wonderful CHANGE scarf anyway - it's a message not confined to any time, person or place. There are also two great totes to choose from, thanks to the design skills of Tory Burch (left) and Diane von Furstenberg. The proceeds from the sale of the merchandise will go towards the cost of the inauguration - which is tipped to be around the $45 million mark! You can browse the Runway to Change products on this website until the end of February.

GET THE LOOK: Billie Piper's leopard print scarf

billie_piper_leopard_scarf.jpg[Image: Sipa Press/Rex Features]

It's no secret I don't mind me a bit of leopard print. However, the fact remains when, where and how are definitely always going to be in play when it comes to this bold print - it's a tricky one to master. I have been wanting a leopard print scarf for the longest time but it wasn't until I saw Billie Piper's one on the red carpet in LA the other day, that I realised just exactly what I was after. I've managed to find three lookalikey's and all for £15 and under.

Product details after the jump.

Urban Outfitters XXL chunky knit scarf

urbanoutfitters_xxlknitscarf.jpg

Brrrr. Yeah, I'm struggling a little bit right now with this chill... Waking up and having to get out of a warm bed is one thing, having to leave a warm house and out into the icy air is another thing completely.

Luckily there are scarves like this XXL chunky knit one to wrap around and around me and keep my neck, shoulders, décolletage and face warm. Maybe I'll need those bomber paws to up the snug-factor on my hands too! The scarf is £38 from Urban Outfitters and is available in orange and fuchsia (the purple appears to be sold out, sorry).

Abercrombie & Fitch striped winter scarves

abercrombie_striped_scarves.jpg

I've always been a bit of an Abercrombie girl at heart, and this is especially the case in winter as I fall so easily for their cashmere, preppy shirts and cable knit sweaters.

Right now, I'm lusting after these adorable striped cable knit scarves (the grey one in particular) and know the wool blend knit would do its utmost to keep my neck and chin super toasty ('cause let's face it, I'm going to be snuggling right into this baby!)

£50 may seem like a lot to fork out for a scarf - especially when you can pick up Abercrombie for less in the US - but if you think you'll treasure it as much as I would, then that may actually seem like a bargain to you anyway *wink*.
