Enviable green bags for St Patrick's Day

st-patricks-day-bags.jpgGreen is a colour we haven't seen a lot of until recently, but as these luxury items show, it seems to be making a comeback as an acceptable shade for accessories. Here are a few of our favourites currently available to buy.

Go for foily, shimmery greens for a high fashion look, or softer minty tones to fit in with the summer's boho vibe. Whatever you do, make sure you bring out your best green baggage tonight if you're celebrating St Patrick's Day!

Fenn Wright Mason chrysanthemum devoré bag

fenn wright mason.jpgWhile we're on the subject of shabby-chic and vintagey looking accessories, I thought I'd pick out something a little more affordable than Marni's runway delights from the high street. Fenn Wright Mason's satin devoré bag, with its lovely, contrasting chrysanthemum design is a great example of a time-honoured look that's been brought right up to date with clever styling - and I love it. Ideal for those planning on a summer of garden parties and weddings...

Pick it up for £49 at John Lewis

Vivienne Westwood's SIGG bottles tackle fashion week waste

vivienne-westwood-sigg.jpgWe're used to seeing fashionistas chugging bottle after bottle of mineral water at shows, only to discard the plastic packaging when they're done with it, so it's good to see one fashion heavyweight addressing the problem of unnecessary waste.

SIGG bottles are completely reusable aluminium flasks that come in a variety of lovely colours and styles, and by carrying one with you on the go it's easy to lower the environmental cost of throw-away bottles. Jo Wood, T4's Jameela Jamil and Pixie Lott were all spotted at London Fashion Week carrying the bottles, which have a very Dame Viv punk look about them!

For a full range of SIGG bottles, check out the site.

Banana guards: healthy eating with less mess

banana-guard.jpgHow I wish I'd known about these nifty little objects last time I lost a banana in my favourite Ted Baker handbag - healthy eating plans are all well and good, but when you find yourself soiling your luggage with your fruity lunch, a quick trip to the chip shop can start to look a whole lot more inviting...

Banana Guards keep your 'nana lovely and bruise-free, your bag lovely and - um - banana free. And they come in a range of wonderful colours, so you can accessorise to your hearts content.

Belen Echandia bags rendered in miniature

belen-echandia-bags.jpgI was under the impression that Belen Echandia bags couldn't possibly get any cuter, but was proven wrong when I saw these amazing renditions of the handbags in miniature.

The polymer clay models were made by one of BE's loyal fans, and uploaded to the company's 'customer images' page. The page is usually full of stylish ladies showing off their bags, so it certainly made a change to see an item there that even the most cash-strapped could theoretically afford!

Get organised for less at Jaeger

jaeger.jpgSince acquiring my beloved Filofax, I'll never under-estimate the importance of organisation, or of just how much difference the right accessories can make to your day-to-day tidiness and togetherness. A slouch bag is a wonderful thing - but there are times when only a stiff one with numerous compartments and pockets will do.

Jaeger are on to it with this range of accessories in 'quince' yellow, all of which are great organisational tools to help you feel totally in control. They're also all on sale, slashed from up to 60%. Check out the collection here for details.
