There's a definite 'back to school' feel about Marc Jacobs' Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, which may be a bit drab and utilitarian for those with wilder tastes, but that's often the case with MJ's work. I happen to think his approach lends itself very well to this collection, with its sturdy buckles, luggage-style straps and upholstery.
For the more glamour-inclined, the high-gloss patent black satchel is both super smart and sexy, while the small chain bag is a great marriage of practicality and style. Once again, the darker colours predominate, but the choice of bright orange is a bold step outside the norm.
The runway collections at New York Fashion Week are starting to flood in, and one designer whose accessories always cause a fashion week stir is Marc Jacobs. Showcasing pieces that are as functional as they are desirable, the designer's Monday night show at Lexington Avenue Armory did not disappoint.

Marc Jacobs was clearly enjoying the opportunity to spend some quality time with partner Lorenzo Martone while on holiday in St Barts - by hitting the shops hard! And judging by the size of that carrier bag it had been a pretty successful haul.
