Bag Lady Loves: Paper Plane overnight bag

paper plane.jpgWhat's not to love about Paper Plane? Their bags and accessories are packed with quirky, indie style, but unlike many other independent labels, their prices are totally reasonable and quality is great, too. I've had more comments on my PP goodies than any other accessories I own.

The Bag Lady's current favourite from the range is this large-sized overnight bag, which incorporates many of the awesome features of other items in the range, from the colourful map fabric and 'air mail' trim, to the 'envelope' style pocket at the front. Genius! If you're jetting off somewhere exciting in the next few weeks, I couldn't think of a better bag to travel with you.

'Harem' patchwork weekend bag at Accessorize

accessorize-patchwork-bag.jpgI always think you can have a lot more fun when choosing weekend bags, as by definition, this isn't one you'll be toting every single day of the week. Why not pick on with all your favourite colours in it then - even if they clash with most of your outfits? Travelling means normal fashion rules don't apply!

If you follow that logic, there's certainly plenty of choice at Accessorize just now. They've really gone to town on the neons, hippy styling and Aztec notes, so pick one that takes your fancy and use it for all your leisure trips this summer. We like this 'Harem' patchwork bag, which is very folksy and held together neatly with sensible tan straps - ideal for packing all your holiday gear.

Something for the Weekend: floral suitcase at Liberty

floral-suitcase2.jpgGoing anywhere special this weekend? Even if you were going to the dullest destination imaginable, I think you'd feel like a VIP traveller with this gorgeous, limited edition floral suitcase.

With wooden panels for that quaint, old-fashioned look, it's a cute mini travelling case from a collaboration between Paris's 'Merci' concept store and Liberty of London. Parfait.

Get this dream handbag at a knock-down price

pauric-bowling-bag.jpgWe've lusted over Pauric Sweeney's mini overnight bowling bag before, but never with any real hope of having it in our grasp. Now, however, the Outnet folk are dangling it before our very eyes with the promise of a knock-down price courtesy of one of their 'going going gone sales'. Are you interested?

If so, the action starts on 12th March, which is next Friday. So put that in your schedule, settle down with a latte and prepare to play bag bingo. The price will start at £800, and will continue to fall, letting you 'lock down' the price you're willing to pay.

The fun all starts here.

Something for the Weekend: Therapy Harley Girl large studded bowling bag

therapy-bagf.jpgTherapy are a great label for more-expensive-than-it-looks chic, which is tricky to find in the quality-obsessed world of luggage. This bag hits all the right spots though, with a neat panel of miniature studs that echoes a lot of current designer gear and a tidy tassel at the side.

Built for hard work, the bag has two strong handles and an internal pocket to keep you organised on your travels. It would make an ideal weekender bag or everyday tote for the heavy traveller - I'd happily use it to carry my laptop, Filofax, scarf and other working week essentials.

Striped leather trim overnight bag by Julie Slater & Son

leather-trim-overnight-bag.jpgThat's it: we're officially sick of winter gloom already. And if we can't do anything about the weather, we'll do what we do best and accessorize the hell out of this ghastly, gloomy weather.

If you don't want a yellow bag, then an even more colourful number is the way to go. This one's technically an overnight bag, but I'm sure you'd get away with it for the remaining 12 (or OK, more like 8 hours) of daylight we have to enjoy. It features a real leather trim and is seriously shiny, very practical and cabin-sized if you can't take any more rain and decide to skip the country.

Looking for a large, affordable bag?

briley-bag.jpgAre you looking for a holdall or larger bag to make you look smaller help you get from A to B without leaving anything behind?

I've recently equipped myself with a giant holdall to carry all my crucial items around town (including laptop and often several changes of clothes!) so am no longer in the market for one, but if you're in need of a large bag with a small price tag, then this 'Briley' bag I spotted at Faith could be a handy buy. It's such a relief knowing that you don't need to flip coins over what you will and won't take out of the house on trips out! And this big bag has had an extra large price reduction: £20 (from £45) at Faith
