We saw them on the catwalk, we boggled, we saw a few celebs toting them and we boggled some more. But now the new generation, bold and colourful bags from Louis Vuitton are starting to appear on the shelves, the look is growing on us. Who couldn't love the candy-coloured accessories with their soft styling and sunny hues? It certainly makes a welcome change from a brand that until this year has been almost exclusively...brown.

There's plenty to love about this new selection, and I'm happy to say there isn't a racoon's tail in sight. Instead, we've got warm, burnt orange satchels, pastel-coloured bucket bags with printed panels contrasting on block colour and over-sized tassels that are crying out to be touched. Who could resist?
Rumours are circulating that former Prime Minister Tony Blair has 'bagged' himself a new job working in an advisory post at luxury luggage label, Louis Vuitton! The label is owned by Bernard Arnault, France's richest man and close ally of Blair since his days in no. 10.
The news has been met with a wailing and a gnashing of teeth from many of Blair's opponents, who claim the appointment proves that he is personally profiting from his role as PM. It appears that Blair had become a close personal friend of Mr. Arnault during is time in Office. Quite what Blair's role will involve and what sort of 'advice' he'll be giving at LV, however, remains a mystery. Blair's sartorial sense may have made him one of our better-dressed PMs, but the idea of a politician moving into fashion is still a very odd one. Can we expect to see him bespectacled and designer-clad in the front row at London Fashion Week in February?
When Ivana Trump made her unexpected entrance into the Big Brother house last week, there were all sorts of questions her new housemates could have asked about her sudden appearance. But it quickly transpired that there was only one topic on their minds: her humungous Louis Vuitton suitcase set - which according to Siquo, included 'the biggest Louis he'd ever seen'!
Ms. Trump most definitely does have an impressive 'fleet' of LV suitcases - but Sisquo clearly hadn't been to Singapore, where this giant replica of a LV suitcase has been placed outside the Ngee Ann City building on Orchard Road, which houses a LV boutique.

If you like Ivana's style and would like to travel in similar style, the bad news is that an average-sized 'Louis' will set you back £3,970. the less bad (but slightly scary) news is that you can alternatively rent one, for the price of $180 a week.
It may be still warm from the runway and yet Victoria Beckham has jumped well ahead of the queue and literally bagged herself a Louis Vuitton S/S 2010 messenger bag.
How sweet it is to be a star...
Victoria was snapped with the bag while breezing through Heathrow with her bodyguard not too far behind. Of course seeing as she's such good buds with Marc Jacobs it isn't really too much of a surprise to see her carrying the slouchy piece, complete with fur tail charms and orange tassels. Hang on, isn't Vic supposed to be against fur?
With a bag so ahead of the pack, I'm not surprised she kept her bodyguard close by. I can see a few green-eyed fashionistas easily tackling the Spice Girl in order to get their mitts on this one.
Once again, Naomi Campbell is lending a helping hand (or shoulder as the case may be) to a worthwhile cause by teaming up with Louis Vuitton.
The supermodel chose one of LV's soft, square canvas bags imprinted with their iconic monogram (pictured) to raise funds for The White Ribbon Alliance, of which she is a global ambassador.
The luxury fashion house will donate a portion of its sales from the handbag to help support the organisation's aim to reduce maternal mortality.

What the...
Louis Vuitton have really taken the 'bag charm' trend to extremes in their latest spring/summer '10 runway show, with some items that look disburbingly like racoon tails (and until someone tells me otherwise, I'm going to assume that they are, in fact, animal appendages). Clipped on to shoulder bags, rucksacks and even small clutches, they swang along the runway, toted by models whose hair had been tousled into similarly voluminous giant afros.

Ignoring the 'charms' for a moment (not easy, is it?) Louis Vuitton's latest collection includes some interestingly 'loose fit' versions of its earlier styles, some reworked into larger sizes, with a candy-coloured colour palate including acid greens, stonewash denim blue, burnt orange and the ubiquitous neutral blush. There were also some interesting embellishments on the side of a few of the bags, which looked a bit like cigarettes! I love the shades and textures here, don't get me wrong: but I think they need to go back to the drawing board on some of those extras. [Images: Bagcraze]
