Coach thank shoppers in style, give us warm fuzzies

coach_thankyou.jpg

As we increasingly turn towards online shopping to satisfy our retail appetites, it's becoming more and more rare to have an enjoyable in-store experience, don't you think? All that fighting through the crowds stuff. And the even worse 'not in stock' scenario. Not to mention actually having to deal face-to-face with people (urgh) and this is made more frustrating if it's incompetent sales staff you're dealing with.

No wonder we like to curl up in front of the computer monitor in our dressing gown with a bag of Galaxy Minstrels chocolate and be left to shop to our heart's content (or is that just me?)

Is it really "farewell, arm candy, hello, foot bauble"?

If you were faced with the choice between the latest, most fabulous arm candy (insert it-bag of choice here) or a pair of the hottest heels around (let's just say Louboutins), which would you choose?

Well, according to fashion writer Hannah Betts (among others, actually), we're all about the shoes nowadays, with the 'it-bag' firmly entrenched in the background. "Farewell, arm candy, hello, foot bauble," she says.

Who's afraid of the big bad bags? Luggage-sized handbags are all the rage

Styleaholics' post on enormous, luggage-sized handbags has got us thinking...

We've linked you up to the health dangers of heavy oversized bags before, but it seems that the trend shows no signs of slowing down, in fact, bags are getting ever bigger! All this to the chorus of hearty disapproval from some members of the blogosphere ("where will it end?" wails the Saturday Evening Post).

It could be a case of always packing to be prepared for every eventuality, or it could be just wanting one big-ass, attention-grabbing statement piece to set off your outfit (see Pixie Geldof, pictured left, whose bag clearly bears no relation to her name).

For me, it's a bit of both (I have to admit to being a fan). Either way, in the bag world at least, size really does matter... [Pui-Tien Man]

Hey big spender... where are you?

Pui-Tien Man writes...
With the blogosphere going ga-ga over Prada's 'Fairy' bag, the culture of aspirational designer fashion is seemingly alive and well. We bask, from a safe distance, in the luxurious glamour of Paris and Milan's fashion weeks (and London Fashion Week's promise of opulent extravagance is just around the corner), and ogle at Gossip Girl and the Cashmere Mafia's gorgeous designer threads. From here, it would seem that all eyes are, as ever, fixed on designer fashion...

Can you go out without your handbag?

me_DVF.jpg
Being a girl that really like skinny jeans and accessories, I hardly ever leave the house without my handbag. Skinny jeans are not forgiving enough to allow pocket space and I feel accessories are as key to an outfit as your underwear; you can go out without it but you'll end up looking a bit naked.

However, there have been incidents when I have left without so much as a set of keys and a mobile phone and it is the weirdest feeling. It's like that horrible feeling when you know you've forgotten something but you don't know what it is. Except, you haven't forgotten anything that you actually need, you just don't have your handbag aka your security blanket.

All I want for Christmas...

what%20i%20want.jpg

OK, there are only 20 shopping days left till Xmas, and for those who are still stuck at what to buy the fabulous moi, I thought I'd give you a heads up. Cos none of us are super rich, I thought I'd choose potentially affordable gifts, though in my heart of hearts I yearn for a Tiffany necklace and a Paddington bag.
