It's great to see the accessories we've lusted after on screen and behind thick glass panels 'in action', and here's an immaculate Diane Kruger at the premiere of Sherlock Holmes in Berlin, showing us what to do with an Alexander McQueen skull-embellished box clutch.
Looking positively fierce against her thigh-high boots, the clutch is the perfect addition to a tough, super-heroine outfit. The version she's toting here appears to be a snakeskin grey, which appears to have sold out everywhere. If you'd like something close, you can buy a gunmetal-effect version at Net-a-Porter for £480.

I don't think I'll be rocking this one at London Fashion Week (I don't have the quirky wardrobe to pull it off) but I know people who'd absolutely love this super-kitsch hamburger bag and could make it part of an awesome outfit, too.
Over at Crafty Crafty we recently noted that hamburgers are enjoying something of a popularity surge at the moment - even if you don't like to eat them. So why not wear one instead? This 'fully functioning' purse is 100% vinyl with a clunky chain strap and guaranteed calorie free! A fun way to get the box clutch look without getting all serious.

Now I like to think myself a hardened journalist nowadays but I couldn't escape aahing over this charming set. You get a sterling silver box, £55 from Tales From the Earth which contains four tiny charms. Each charm represents secrets to getting a happy life, and includes a miniature heart for friendship, cherub for love, sunflower for beauty and sixpence for luck. The truly creative will also notice that if you rearrange the letters 'Inside are Secrets' it becomes 'Desire creates sin'.

Square seems to be the watchword with Nine West this collection, with blocky, almost schoolbook style bags in a range of colours. They really capture the feel of the new season in their muted shades of lime and lemon, set off with a brilliant blue. This almost uniform style even has added buckle and strap detail, to make these satchel style purses very desirable ad chic, think Gossip Girls gone bad. To contrast this there are some nice unstructured handbags for those who prefer a more grown up look.

I swear that as I looked at this bag, I felt like I could taste lemon sorbet. Or lemon sherbet. Or bonbons. Something lemony and yummy, anyway.
Patent leather with Lulu Guinness logo patch, black and beige stripe lining, and a perspex frame clasp closure, it costs £225.

... but whatever it is, I like it. How beautiful is this? It's a 'Butterfly Minaudiere' by Borbonese. And it's described as a "bracelet-handled minaudiere". Okay, I'll just look it up...
Oh, right. It's "a small ornamental case". Small? Yep, it's 6" x 2½" x 4". And it costs $1,140 from Vivre. So it may well be beautiful, but it's also utterly ridiculous.

Now I don't know about you but my job requires testing weird and wonderful products of the adult persuasion, which means I am starting to have a quite scary sized pile hidden underneath my old magazines. I think it would be much better for everyone if these accessories were kept tidied away, and what better way to do it than with this natty adult toybox, masquerading as a mini red patent suitcase? It's padlocked for extra security and could always double as a weekend bag, if you take your saucy toys out.. or keep them in for a dirrrty weekend. It's £19.99 from Love Honey.
