Summer's here (or so it feels right now) and if you're longing for the beach, you've probably already started scouting out a good beach bag to house all those beachy necessities. If you're planning a little day trip down to the coast, then you probably won't balk too much at the price of these designer beach bag offerings - hey, if your train ticket is a tenner, then you could probably even justify it. However, if the weather does a switcheroo on us - which, let's face it, it is prone to do - then your only option might be to book a beach holiday somewhere overseas, and in that case, you might want to put your extra cash down on that instead!

What could be better than a cute Marc by Marc Jacobs clear PVC beach bag? Well, a cute Marc by Marc Jacobs clear PVC beach bag which also comes with a M by MJ towel, a reversible sun hat and some branded flip-flops, that's what.
You'll have everything you need for the beach (bar some bathers and sunblock) when you take ownership of this adorable package - that's a lot of summer-friendly goodness for your moolah (which is £235, in case you were wondering). From Net-a-Porter.

While we're on the subject of beachy bags, here's one which I think you'll find impossible to resist. This clear tote bag by Mulberry is so sweet with it's little ice-cream decos but also really ups the 'quirk factor' thanks to the characters they take on.
You'll be dying to pack a towel and your swimmers and get thee to a beach pronto - just as well there's plenty of room for a magazine or two, some sunblock and your sunglasses. It's £100, which is a little steep in this current economic climate, but if the cute-ness is too much and you can't stop thinking about it, you can find it at Net-a-Porter.

I'm crazy about independent jewellery designer Lady Luck Rules OK - their witty, kitsch, and beautifully made designs make me smile. This wooden necklace in the style of a sailor's anchor tattoo, £13 from the Lady Luck Rules OK website, would make a perfect Valentine's day gift and look great well into summer.
* Personalisation takes up to 10 working days which is why I'm blogging about it today!

How many posts have I begun with "If summer ever comes..." or "Now that summer is finally here..." (only for it to immediately disappear again)? But I'm clinging to the possibility that we *will* get a summer and soon. (But when?)
And so I'm liking this straw bag from White Stuff for the days that I plan to spend in the park or on the beach. Hand-crocheted, it's been reduced from £29.95 to £20.00. So even if the summer doesn't come, you won't have wasted too much money.

I'm off on holiday in a few days and while I'm not hitting the beach this time round (boohoo), I still can't tear myself away from looking at beach bags, beach-inspired bags and well, anything beach-related basically! And while I might not be off to tropical climes, you very well could be, so it makes perfect sense to show you some of my findings...
I am quite liking this little canvas satchel from Nine West, which aside from being a great little bag to zip around with from resort to resort, has a great nautical theme to it too, thanks to the straw detail, crisp white fabric and metal tag. A great purchase to make before you head away, it's on sale currently for £39 from Nine West.

You wouldn't think I'd done eight years of French at school, would you? Why? Because I was convinced that the name of this bag meant "beach". But that's "plage". "Pliage" means "fold". Which makes sense, because this tote folds up for travel or whatnot.
I'm loving the illustration, but I don't think the brown leather goes very well. Still, it costs $165 from Bloomingdales.
