Marc Jacobs SS13.jpgMarc Jacobs is always a smoking hot ticket at New York Fashion Week and in his collection for spring/summer 2013, the legendary designer brought plenty of his signature touches to the party, namely caricature, repeat pattern and a playful take on everyday essentials.

These elements all came through strongly in the accessories: bold prints - in the form of stripes, colour blocking and animal print and a lot of playing around with scale: tiny, boxy bags finished off many of the looks with a dainty touch. This was a pared down collection for Jacobs - no frou-frou excess here at all.

We loved the monochrome section of the show in particular; channeling 60s it-girl Edie Sedgwick, it featured giant houndstooth, Op Art references and a high necklines. Here, the accessories matched the print on the garments completely, almost camouflaging them under the models' arms.
