Brits lead the way for designer bag love
If shopping for designer bags was an Olympic sport, Britain would be taking home the gold. According to the World Luxury Index (which is an analysis of the most searched luxury brands, conducted by the Digital Luxury Group), Brits love designer handbags more than any other country in the world.
Per 1,000 internet users, 422 handbag searches were made in the UK, while our cousins in the US only clocked up 315, and Italy only search 196 times (surprising, seeing as it's the homeplace of so many handbag brands).
Mulberry is at the top of the search terms in the UK (both in general and here on The Bag Lady). Coach topped the list worldwide, followed by Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci and Longchamp. The most searched iconic bag is the Hermès' Birkin bag (again, no surprises there.)
Why do you think the brits are so handbag mad?
