At the tender age of 19, Disney graduate Miley Cyrus has got engaged to her boyfriend of three years, Liam Hemsworth (recognise the name? His big brother Chris is Thor). And that stonker of a ring above is what Liam gave to her.
The couple met whilst filming The Last Song together in June 2009. Apparently Miley's Dad Billy Rae Cyrus took some persuading due to Miley's age, but clearly Liam won out!
Liam went on to say a little more about the ring on Twitter:
"It was hand-cut around 1880 or 1890 and it's unique and in its original form."
Followed by, er...
"It's a contemporary design based on vintage aesthetics. The light flashes & sparkles no matter where she moves her hand"
So it's not entirely clear whether it's vintage or contemporary. Regardless, it's certainly a blingtastic ring! Gold is a bold choice, especially as silver, platinum or white gold are considered to be more suitable for young hands, but it's a common colour for a vintage ring.
