Each season, Reed Krakoff redesigns his celebrated signature 'Boxer' bag, and I have to admit, the most recently updated pieces almost make me want to dress 'office chic' just so I can clash this beauty against a monochrome outfit.
Krakoff's bag offers the perfect blend of masculine structure and feminine detailing; something one expects from someone who has not only spent more than 20 years designing for iconic American brands, but has twice been named accessories designer of the year. The covetable leather accessory has been seen on celebrities such as Twilight star Ashley Greene and on set of one of the most fashionable shows of the century, Gossip Girl, securing it firmly on every fashion fans radar!
The Boxer is a must-have accessory for any fashionable woman looking to make an impression, without the ostentatious aesthetic. The buckle fastenings and gun metal hardware across the front has that utilitarian Alexander Wang appeal, whilst the luxury crafting and soft leather gives the bag a feminine touch. It's the perfect every day luxury for hard working women, with two internal patch pockets, two zip-fastening pockets, and a snap fastening front flap providing optimum carry space. I love the little design features on each of the bags, ranging from the clashing stamped luggage tag on the orange Boxer (middle) the hand finished leather and linen mix (left) and the sport luxe mesh on the flap (right).
Of all the styles featured on Reed Krakoff's website and on Net-A-Porter, I think the orange leather is my favourite - although at £1,090 it might be a while before you see one on my arm. If you can afford to order this stunning accessory then I suggest teaming it with either a good pair of heels (it just looks wrong with trainers) or a simple sleek flat. Try not to 'down dress' the bag by pairing it with an everyday outfit thrown on in 5 minutes - it belongs in an equally sophisticated and fashionable wardrobe!
