Louis Vuitton fans got very excited at the end of last year when it was revealed that the brand's classic Epi leather was getting a colourful makeover for 2012.
Now the bold, bright versions of classic shapes like the Alma MM handbag (above) are selling like hotcakes - in fact you'll have a job finding them at all thanks to those die-hard fans clamouring to get a more modern, fun take on a bestseller...even at a whopping £1222.
The grainy, texture Epi leathers have always been some of my favourite Louis Vuitton pieces. They're less obvious than the monogram leather and patent, easier to wear than the more extravagant denims, patchworks and furs, but the classic shape of the Alma, with it's curved top and zipper, grab handles and padlock closure, still makes it an instantly recognisable 'Louis'.
Now then, purple or yellow? Or maybe green...?
