Last week, we looked at the hottest designer handbags for Spring/Summer 2012. The High Street is, as usual, hot on their heels. Which is fabulous news for those of us who can't quite stretch to a £485 Anya Hindmarch clutch bag.
Where to start though? We've collected ten of our favourite S/S12 handbags for your browsing pleasure.
French Connection
Large envelope clutch bags will continue to be hot during 2012, and this textured croc clutch is one of the standout pieces from their S/S12 range, which should see you through quite a few more seasons.
Topshop is hailing South Pacific as one of their leading trends, and this Heart Lock Crossbody Bag fits in perfectly with the colour scheme. As an added perk, it also suits the pastel trends to a T. Crossbody bags were spotted all over the catwalks for this season, so it's not surprise to see this design at Topshop.
Surprise, surprise, nautical is back for S/S12. H&M often throws itself into this trend, so it's no surprise to see them producing this nautical striped holdall, perfect for days on the beach or a day sailing.
The laser cutting detail on this clutch bag adds some interesting detail to the Flash Couture look of this clutch bag. It's no surprise to see a tassel there too, with this added detail spotted up and down the catwalk.
Colour blocking continues to be a big trend for S/S12, but this green and grey bag moves away from the bold colours of autumn, and instead goes for a more muted version. Thankfully, this makes it a whole lot easier to match with the rest of your wardrobe (especially those popular pastels that we'll see a lot of!)
We're loving the trend for unusual shapes in bags this season, and Miss Selfridge have created this beautiful box bag, which looks far more expensive than the £28 price tag. It comes with a long across-the-body strap (yup, that trend again!)
We've already looked at the orange and pink trend during our round up of the best designer bags, and New Look have managed to nail it for just £12.99. They've pulled it off by using a snake skin pattern on the orange section, and a silver lip to stop the colours clashing too much.
Thanks to the Queen's Jubilee this year, the Pearly Kings and Queens have seen something of a resurgence. Formal dress shop Coast has taken the pearl trend and transformed it into a wearable and beautiful clutch bag.
Another fan of the nautical trend is George at ASDA, who has taken the nautical stripes and added some green details to bring it up to date. The patent finish makes it pretty AND practical.
Zara always take inspiration from the catwalks, then use it to create simple, classic pieces that will look just as hot next season as it does this season. How beautiful will this bag look after a little ageing?
