Mark Fast, William Richard Green, Atalanta Weller and Simone Rocha collaborate with Hackney Council
Hackney isn't necessarily a location you'd associate with Mark Fast. Paris, Milan, New York? Sure. But Hackney doesn't spring to mind. However the fashion designer, famous for using plus size models for his knitted designs, is from Hackney. He's teaming up with the council to release a shopping tote to promote the Love Hackney, Shop Local campaign.
He'll be joining William Richard Green, Atalanta Weller and Simone Rocha in creating the designs. Mark Fast's design on the left is immediately recognisable, with the loose knitted pattern.
To get one of the shopping totes, shoppers will need to shop in some of Hackney markets and collect 10 tokens. They can then swap the tokens for one of the designer bags. It's a clever way of increasing sales and footfall to the markets.
If you want to read up more about the Love Hackney campaign, check out their website. The designs by Mark Fast and William Richard Green will be available first, and the Atalanta Weller and Simone Rocha bags will be available from September.
Are you a Hackney resident? Will you be shopping there more to get your hands on one of these bags?
