Reese Witherspoon seems very proud of her tan Chloe Paraty in this shot, which was recently taken on a sunny day in LA. But there are groups out there who'd like to see the smile wiped off her face over the type of python skin used to make the handbag. In fact, it's not just the extreme animal rights lobby that might want to talk to Ms. Witherspoon, as it has emerged that the bag is actually illegal in California.
Selling python skin has been outlawed in the state since 1870, so the 35-year old star must have bought the item (which would have set her back around $4000) elsewhere. Reese is unlikely to be arrested for her accessory any time soon, but she may well be receiving some educational material from PETA, which ironically enough voted her 'world's sexiest vegetarian' just a few years ago.
