breast-cancer-awareness-bags.pngOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which gives some of us an excuse to indulge our secret yearning to get into pink. Pink and other strong colours are big news this season - particularly when worn with clashing shades - so there's never been a better time to wear it. Plenty of big labels have made signature items in pink recently, and in most cases the results are really striking!

Of course, there is a lot more to Breast Cancer Awareness than just wearing pink. Many of us have had friends or relatives whose lives have been affected by the disease, and a surprising number of women are not in the habit of checking their breasts regularly. If you're one of those women, have a look at the NHS guidelines on breast health, and try to make checking your breasts a part of your routine.

This is the 19th year the campaign has run (with Liz Hurley the spokeslady once again), and it's prevalence has seen the word 'breast' now freely accepted in the public domain (you used not to be able to advertise anything with that word in it!) and mortality rates are falling. Let's do our best to celebrate this success and keep the figures moving in the right direction!
