Sorry folks, we couldn't resist sharing this odd set of photos (or the bad pun) ahead of Ascot's Ladies Day, which is taking place tomorrow. If you were thinking that the "ladies" were looking a bit horsier than usual there's good reason for that: The event celebrates its 300th anniversary this year and in honour of the occasion, milliner Stephen Jones has created a very special line of limited edition hats - for the horses!
Our scouts will be down at the racecourse tomorrow, and we'll be sure to share photos of the most inventive and extravagant hats we see on the human participants. But what do you think of Jones' equine collection? This particular piece of 'horse couture' is being modelled by the very lovely Ambers, who is owned by Fox's Biscuits.
Jones, whose clients have previously included all manner of society ladies including Royalty, took inspiration from Audrey Hepburn in the film My Fair Lady when designing the hat, which took more than 30 hours to make and is valued at £8,000.
What do you think of the horsey headgear?
