The A-List were out in force earlier this week, when the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition was officially launched at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Stars turned out clad in stunning McQueen pieces at the Gala event on Monday night, many clutching a distinctive McQueen evening bag.
Shown above, Jennifer Lopez (left) brought along a fuchsia pink snakeskin box clutch to match her draped gown, while Daphne Guinness (centre) bucked the minaudiere trend with a black and gold chain handbag. Salma Hayek went for a beautiful mother-of-pearl clutch with gold hardware.
The exhibition, organized by The Costume Institute, is now open to the public and will celebrate the late Alexander McQueen's extraordinary contributions to fashion. Costumes on display are taken from his postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation which took place after his death in February 2010.
