The kerfuffle around Kate's catwalk cigarette cast such a shadow over the Louis Vuitton show that we almost forgot about the actual collection altogether. But now the nicotine-heavy cloud is starting to dissipate, we're looking back on a show that had plenty of style highlights to chew over.
One of the stand-out pieces was the oversized top-handler bag carried by Naomi Campbell. The veteran supermodel was well cast to carry this beautifully flocked, classic piece of LV luggage which picked up the luxurious tone of her pale tan skirt. The piece itself was a giant Lockit bag: a reinterpretation of a 1958 top-handler that looks set to make a huge come-back.
Elsewhere, long cigar-shaped bags featured heavily, made up in golden tan, forest green and light blue. Over all, there was not quite as much exuberant colour as we've seen in some of LV's recent collections, but a return to the brand's traditional more muted tones with a greater emphasis on texture.
