Dolce & Gabbana is always a bit of a highlight of fashion season for us here at The Bag Lady: the label's love for accessories is always apparent, and never more so than in this gem of a collection from the Paris runway. It was packed full of just the sort of quirky and original ideas we've come to expect, along with some of the most fun styling we've seen this season.
As in previous collections there was a focus on vintage replica styling with the sort of frame-top clasp purses used for the Miss iPhone popping up in various guises, It was used as a canvas for a jazzy piano-key clutch bag (bottom left) and layered like Russian dolls against an identical 'big mama' handbag.
Whimsical styling came up again and again, and where it wasn't appearing on the garments, it was carried by the bags. Musical motifs featured heavily as did a galaxy of stars in different bright childlike colours. Placing of the bags was interesting too, and many were worn as backpacks or side pouches, lending another offbeat direction to this adorable collection.
