There was a question mark over whether or not the Dior show would actually go ahead as planned last night, following chief designer Galliano's recent offensive drunken outbursts and dismissal. But the French powerhouse chose not to let recent events get in the way of what was to be a striking and largely successful show in its native Paris.
There was certainly no sign of the disgraced designer himself, and his usual flamboyant appearance at the end of the show was notable in its absence. But his striking 20s-inspired collection did much to remind us of his genius as a designer. Accessories were particularly strong, and we liked them enough to put together a gallery of our favourites.
