We've seen quite a few of these very simple fold-over bags on the red carpet lately, and when worn with the right colour combinations, they can be very striking. Louis Vuitton's 'slim' range is one that's particularly popular, but we're not sure where Natalie Portman got this lovely vintagey-piece; a bag apparently eye-catching enough for the paps to take their lenses off her prominent baby-bump for long enough to take this picture! The Black Swan star brought the bag along to the Oscars lunch, where several members of the great and the good met yesterday.
The deep red clutch is, unsurprisingly, by Christian Dior; the brand that Portman is currently endorsing. It's got a beautiful little 'nest' of jewels at the clasp, which is what provides that old-world look, and it contrasts very nicely against her blue silk evening gown. It's always nice to see a bit of good old-fashioned glamour on the red carpet, and we look forward to seeing Natalie debut more treats from the range!
