LFW: Mulberry A/W 2011
Mulberry brought the English countryside to the heart of London for its LFW show, filling the Claridges ballroom with foliage, foxes and garden sheds. Guests commented on how they'd even got the smell right, as our noses detected definite hints of rural autumn - the only thing missing was the scent of bonfires!
This was to be the setting for the first outing of its A/W collection; a range with a definite bucolic feel. The peaches and cream tones that dominated the last show were replaced by rusty oranges, rainy grey metallics and the odd bright flash of pink or green.
Many of our old favourites like the Bayswater and the Paddington had re-appeared with a woodland makeover, and newer styles like the Tillie, Lily and Edie played bigger roles than ever before. The collection went down a storm with the celebrity front row, which included the likes of Karen Gillan, Olivia Palermo, Kirsten Dunst and Nicola Roberts.
