Eel skin isn't a material you often think of when it comes to clutches. Contrary to popular belief, it comes from the Pacific Hagfish (a jawless fish) rather than actual eels. It's a rare and high quality fabric known for its strength.
Designer Heidi Mottram is an expert on manipulating eelskin, and has used it throughout her new bag range. The clutch above features pin-tuck detailing across half of the bag for a texturised finish. Whilst the fabric is unusual, it still maintains a classic timeless look.
