I have to admit that Gucci's recent show is the only one in the accessories category that I wasn't exactly wowed by. Sure, all of next season's collections are going to feature drab colours: barring the odd bit of sparkle courtesy of Mulberry and the like, that's the A/W 10 palate. But Gucci is the only label that's managed to make the bags themselves look drab as well.
I think it's just the styling that doesn't grab me - the leather is beautifully puckered and of obvious, undeniable quality. But there's just not enough interest going on to counterbalance those heavy front-flaps and jelly-like curves. Not going on the wish list here!
