I'm just about old enough to remember 'Chelsea Girl' being the name of a shop I was too young to patronise (I was still shopping in Tammy Girl at the time). But - fashion factoid of the day - did you know that Chelsea Girl became the shop we now know as River Island? I have to admit, I hadn't connected the disappearance of one and the appearance of the other until I read about it recently.
But River Island is now making no secret of its former, 80s identity and is selling shopper bags with the old name and logo proudly emblazened across the front.
