Annie Leibovitz and Damien Hirst to design bags for Louis Vuitton
Annie Leibovitz (pictured far left with Sarah Jessica Parker) is no stranger to working with Louis Vuitton. The famed photographer has collaborated with the luxury brand on several ad campaigns, most notably the label's "core values" campaigns starring a plethora of celebs such as Sir Sean Connery.
Now Leibovitz, along with six others including British artist Damien Hirst, are turning into designers for Louis Vuitton. They have been asked to create an special order piece each to be auctioned off for charity.
The star snapper has designed a monogrammed canvas backpack, roomy enough to fit camera equipment (natch!). It features black leather trim, red lining, together with a matching shoulder bag.
The bags will go under the hammer on 17 November at Sotheby's in London. Each will raise money for Red Cross, but I'm sure Leibovitz will have her mind on the commission. As recently reported, she is currently in the midst of settling debts of up to a staggering £14.5 million. She narrowly escaped bankruptcy after she bought back control of her photographs and homes.
