While I was getting all excited about the new Matthew Williamson range that's just landed at Debenhams, I had a quick look in the labyrinthine bags section where this one by Jasper Conran caught my eye. It's a nice enough shape, and I like the cute, over-sized lock detail. But what I find most interesting is the fabric.
Unusual textures and tactile fabrics are huge right now and you'll notice that most of the big designers are innovating in this area. If you like your exotic skins, this means snake, lizard and even eel, but you can do wonderful things leather and vinyl to create a similar effect.
This bag is 100% leather, styled into the fashionable 'dots' look that Mulberry are using on some of their bags. I like it - and I also like the price: £65 at Debenhams.
