I have to admit here that Paul's Boutique is a bit of a grey area in my fashion know-how, mostly because I can't figure out who it appeals to. I don't mean by this that I dislike the look in all cases - but where I live it seems to be loved by teenaged girls and middle-aged mums, the fashion conscious and the jumble sale addict leading me to ask, perplexed, who is the Paul's Boutique girl?
In the case of this bag though, it's fairly obvious who the brand is aiming at: 8-year-old girls and women who still want to be 8-year-old girls. Not that there's anything wrong with that - I still treasure my 80s sticker collection and am not immne to nostalgia. But my problem with this bag is that it's been designed to be just like a child's one, instead of interpreting the now 50-year-old Barbie's world of glitz in a more wearable way. If you disagree, it's £80 at ASOS
