abi-shoey.jpgHi Everybody

My name is Abi, and I'm taking over today from the lovely Kelly as Editor here at The Bag Lady and also on our sister site, Shoewawa.

You may have seen me lurking on the site from time to time sharing my favourite accessory picks and love for totes, but what sort of a bag lady am I really? I've been shady on the subject for a while now, but this cleverly devised quiz should soon let the cat out of the bag on my true portage passions...

Current handbag a super-soft Ted Baker bag made from slouchy leather in a very pale pink. It reminds me of ballet shoes and I bought it for a great price at Bang Bang in London.

What's in your handbag? This is easy, only because it's so new it hasn't got messy yet. Contents at time of writing are: a string of pearls (fake), Two tickets for the Walking in My Mind exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, a black headband, my coralicious Ri2k purse, keys and an Urban Decay lipstick.

Fave bag designers: Luella, Stella McCartney, Marni, Vivienne Westwood, Shinzi Katoh, Mulberry, Ted Baker, Marc Jacobs, Lulu Guinness and oh-so-many more!

Favourite high street bag labels: I think Red Herring are doing some great looking affordable luggage at the moment, and French Connection have some exciting clutches and handbags in store. For a real cheap and cheerful shopper or wraparound bag I'm also a huge fan of Paperchase and their cute prints. Their owl bag has been serving me well all summer!

Least favourite bag trends: I don't like big logos on bags, so I'll never be a Louis Vuitton fan. Any bag trying too hard to look like something else is also a no-no in my book, particularly those hideous 'shoe' bags with a heel that were briefly popular a few years back. Ugh!

Worst bag moment:
Having my handbag stolen from a pub the same day I'd decided to fill it with my camera, iPod, Blackberry and spare mobile phone. Not my finest hour - but on the plus side, the bag itself was a slightly scruffy one from Gap so at least I got to go shopping once the insurance came through!

Bag predictions for A/W 09/10:
Take your handbag down to the ironmongers for a makeover if you want the right sort of arm-candy this winter! Studs will feature heavily, as will more of the giant tassels, locks and zips we've already started to notice. Contrast this with a more elegant evening look that will owe a lot to 20s and 30s glamour.

That's enough of my 'baggage' for now! But if you'd like to introuce yourself and share your own bag loves and hates, why not fill in the questionnaire in comments? It would be great to get to know a few more of the bag ladies out there.
