The future is here: LG launches a phone for your wrist

Watch phones fall into the 'Hey, haven't they already invented them? No? Oh, I could have sworn... No? Really? Huh' category of gadgets. Ubiquitous in any film with the word future, space or 'Part >3' in the title, it seems LG has stepped up to the plate with the news of the GD910.

It's a 3G device you presumably use with a Bluetooth headset, although it has a 1.4-inch touchscreen with in-built camera for video calling. There's also MP3 playback, and text-to-speech, for reading your text messages.

Interested? Even mildly? Just a bit? It's rumoured to be launching in Europe later in the year. Hoverboots at the ready.

  • The idea of a wrist phone is one of those, hasn't that already been invented kind of ideas; however, to me, I think that wrist phones would really look a little silly. But, it does have sort of a James Bond sort of feel to it, and I love James Bond.
