BAG COUSINS? Alexander McQueen Elvie and River Island pouch bag

mcqueen_elvie_riverisland.jpg

Okay, I know I'm clutching at straws a bit with this week's Bag Cousins feature... but you have to admit there are some similarities happening between these two bags (one is Alexander McQueen, the other is from River Island).
Interesting colourways for one. A sort of pleated, 'puffball' look is another. So what if one has a kisslock clasp and a shoulder strap and the other one doesn't? Or that one is leather and one isn't. Let's not pick them apart guys. The handles could be twins though don't ya reckon? (Told you I was clasping at straws.... please just give me that!)

I love bags and couldn't resist stopping by and looking. I do like both bags and they really are very similar but I love the color purple - I would go with that one!

I love purple but I fell in love with this bag as soon as I saw it. I love the colour and the leopard print interior, and the clasp! It's so cute.

Sorry, but I don't see the resemblance! Look at the pleats, one has tight pleats top and bottom, the other is loosely pleated from the top only, and the biggest difference is the shape of the whole bag. Other than both puffy, they're an entirely different shape.

I think it would make a great alternative. There is one in store now that reminded me of Alexander McQueen as soon as I saw it. It is red, and very similar to the one in the picture.
