I love Longchamp's bags. They are just so effortless, so classy and they just seem so, I don't know, handy. Like you'd get a heap of use outta them. Cause that's what we really ought to be looking for in a bag - practicality *ahem*. Or something like that.
Well, if you're a fan like me, then you won't want to miss Longchamp's 192-page coffee table tome which celebrates the brand's 60 years in the biz...
Out in September, the retrospective - entitled Longchamp - takes us back in time, from when the label was just starting up and goes on to look at special moments in their history, such as the collaboration between the label and French painter Serge Mendjisky - possibly the first of its kind.
"It was fun coming across our first line of bags customised by an artist in 1971," Longchamp's managing director, Jean Cassegrain told WWD. "As far as I know, it was the first example of a leather goods house collaborating with an artist."
Also released in honour of the 60-year milestone are the collection of special edition Pliage bags, like the ones above, which are inspired by Native American, Scandinavian and African themes.
