Artist sued by Louis Vuitton for politically controversial artwork

Danish art student Nadia Plesner has been slapped with a lawsuit from the folks at Louis Vuitton after incorporating a LV-inspired bag into her politically-charged artwork.
The work, entitled Simple Living, shows a Darfurian child clutching a chihuahua dog in one hand and the offending monogram bag in the other. This image, printed onto t-shirts and posters, aims to highlight the coverage of the crisis being experienced in Darfur in comparison to the column inches generated by Paris Hilton et al.
"My illustration Simple Living is an idea inspired by the media's constant cover of completely meaningless things," says Plesner on her website. "My thought was: Since doing nothing but wearing designer bags and small ugly dogs apparently is enough to get you on a magazine cover, maybe it is worth a try for people who actually deserves and needs attention."
All profits from the sale of the tees and posters goes to the "Divest for Darfur" organisation to help the victims, yet this hasn't stopped Louis Vuitton from breathing down her neck. They are now asking for $7,500 for each day she continues to sell the products, $7,500 for each day their letter is published on the website and $7,500 a day for using the name 'Louis Vuitton' on her website.
Plesner has refused to meet their demands and she and her three lawyers will meet with Louis Vuitton in Paris on May 30.
Frankly, I think they should be more concerned with this Louis Vuitton branded electric chair! What do you think?
