I've made no secret of my dislike for Marc Jacobs' bags for Louis Vuitton (I write for a bag blog, so why would I?), but I do actually like the design of these bags from the new 'Monogram Jokes' range - I think they're smart and unusual - what I don't like are the jokes printed on them.
"Every time i meet a girl who can cook like my mother ... she looks like my father."
"My wife went to the beauty shop and got a mud pack. For two days she looked beautiful. Then the mud fell off."
Some will say they're just bags and I'm taking it too seriously, but I just don't find sexist gags funny. Call me crazy.
But then even the non-sexist ones aren't funny, e.g. "I just heard from Bill Bailey. He's not coming home."
Ooh. My sides.

i think thats the point of them not to be funny...but they r ugly bags anyway lol. asmuch as i love marc jacobs, these arent worth the small fortune they are going to cost.
I don't mind the jokes being unfunny, I just wish they didn't have to be sexist too. I mean, if he'd plastered them with racist jokes there'd have been an outcry, and rightly so!
Miff, the "text error" will be the Captcha characters. If you refresh the page you get another go.
Yeah somehow sexism is always more acceptable than racism. I wonder what Dollymix think of these?

The "jokes" on the bag are from Richard Prince's art work, the bags are a result of Marc Jacobs collaboration with the artist for LV. FYI...
I personally love the bags.
