Out of all of the surprising advertising campaigns this year, I seriously did not expect that Mikhail S. Gorbachev would be starring in one for Louis Vuitton. Yes, that's right - the last president of the Soviet Union, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990, is now helping to sell designer handbags and luggage. The images could have been worse - he isn't in his underwear wrapped around a white rope carrying a Louis Vuitton shopper filled with flowers (ahem, Scarlett Johansson) - but he probably wouldn't have looked too much more uncomfortable if he had been! He looks utterly terrified of the Louis Vuitton next to him, and certainly seems ready to spring out of the car at a moment's notice. Gorbachev's advert is just one of a series which also features tennis stars Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf amongst others. What do you think?
