Gucci's 'Indy' being set up to be the next Fendi 'Spy'?
Four full pages of ads in this month's Vogue are dedicated to the Gucci 'Indy' (right in front, no less!) - that extremely stylin, very distinctive, expensive jewel being toted by many celebrities. Gucci is rolling out some fascinating new incarnations of the 'Indy', you see, so that every boy and girl can find their own special version. Will there one day be as many 'Indy' versions as there are Fendi 'Spy' bags? I predict: uh huh. Gucci's signature checkered print adorns a US$2350 version, complete with the signature mirror finish plate corners, while a US$1490 version recalls Gucci's interested in sadddlery inspired design and even switches out for leather plate corners. There's even a new 'Indy' for you moneybags out there: a stunning, gun metal python 'Indy' takes shiny up to the next level and demands a hair-raising US$3990 price tag.
