Dorothy Perkins' new recycled totes give new meaning to the phrase "Rubbish Bags"

These unusual tote bags are "Rubbish Bags"by name, but they're actually "rubbish bags" by nature, too - and I mean that in the nicest possible way. They're made from rubbish collected by a cooperative of Filipino women, who then sort and sanitize the cartons and packets collected, and either weave or stitch them into these handbags. Not only are they eco-friendly, the workers are also helping to clean up their neighbourhoods, and with all profits being shared between the members of the cooperative, they're creating employment in the area, too.
The bags will be available from tomorrow at Dorothy Perkins , with the woven bag priced at £15 and the stitch bag at £10.
