Tod's is attempting to shed its old-lady-bag style and revamping the designer's staples with sleek lines, new materials, mod colors, and shiny patent leather. Behold the 'New Besonville Piccola' (US$1450), the 'Restyled D-Bag Piccola' (US$1450), and the 'Restyled D-Bag Media' (US$1350) Erm... they all still look like old-lady-bags to me. Not that such a thing is a bad thing; far from it. I look to Tods for a slice of sophistication, timeless style and unfussy details. A Tod's bag is a great investment for any woman, as such a handbag can accompany her throughout her personal and professional life for years to come. The 'revamped' names bother me, 'cos they imply something was wrong with the old bags. Why couldn't they just call 'em the 'D-Bag Media, in yellow'? (For reference, here's the normal 'Besonville Piccola', minus the patent leather, US$1250.)
