I once read that the most common way people spread bacteria in the home is by putting their shopping bags on the kitchen countertops. (The dirt and who-knows-what-else that the bags have picked up on the floor will be transferred to your pristine surfaces!) I was reminded of this when I spotted these bags from Plusminuszero. The bottom of the bag is a real shoe sole from a shoe commonly used in schools in Japan. You wouldn't put your shoe on your countertop, would you? Plus there's the fact that it stops the bag from falling over. Designed by Naoto Fukazawa, they come in red, yellow or green and are available in the US from Compact Impact for $89 and in the UK from Twentytwentyone where they're currently reduced from £52 to £31.20.
