With a distinct Egyptian theme running through his show, Alexander McQueen outperformed himself as usual in the handbag department. The bags were studded with tiny gold beads resembling perhaps the night's sky over the River Nile, and some gorgeous Dior 'Detective' style satchels, no doubt adequate for shlepping about the desert fossicking for ruins. Sadly no new 'Novaks' were displayed, but the antiqued brown leather satchels are more than enough to sate my appetite for the King of reworking-punk, McQueen.
