Topshop's Leather Zip Top Holdall

Topshop_20

There's been a lot of talk lately about Topshop and it's rising prices, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a real leather bag of this size for less than the £45 they're currently charging for it. This holdall comes in a lovely colour which Topshop describe as "berry red" and which I'd probably call "plum".  Whatever you want to call it, though, it's a nice, roomy bag for the price, and the leather has a nice, slightly aged look in the close up. It's also machine washable: what more could you want?

surely in the same way you have to question where cheap meat comes from, it would be wise to question the conditions an animal has lived in when it's skin is sold so cheaply..?

Well, Topshop have aligned themselves quite closely with PeTA at the moment, Adrienne, are are campaigning quite strongly against the use of fur in fashion. I know this is leather we're talking about, but I'd like to think that if they care so much about animals used for fur, they would extend that to the treatment of animals used for leather. I obviously can't vouch for them myself, of course, and I don't know where they get their leather from: you're right that it's always good to question these things, though.
