I love croc leather, used with subtlety it's really elegant and adds interest to what might otherwise be quite a plain bag. Here's a round-up of five great mock croc bags from both the High Street stores and designer labels...

Autumn is great news for fans of purple - it's everywhere, in wine, aubergine and burgundy tones, as well as brights. It's also the one colour available for this gorgeous large-print croc leather bag from Danielapi. The bag can be carried as a tote and also comes with an optional leather shoulder strap. You can buy it from YOOX for £148. Read below the jump for some more great finds...

Mscroc

I was in Marks & Spencer recently and saw this bag in green and it really is a good classic style. For £25, it's not real leather, but it's a great roomy bag that should fit A4 folders plus the rest of your bits and pieces. With a zip closure across the top, the faux flapover is just a design feature giving a great look without compromising practicality. It comes in dark green and dark brown (shown).

Accessorizecroctote

Also in dark brown is this strap-detailed tote from Accessorize, and it's also £25. It's made from mock croc PVC with acrylic handles, and has two inside zip pockets - something I always need for those small items that end up getting lost in my bag otherwise. I love this bag's simple styling with the wrap-around strap and structured look.

Walliscamelcroc

If you're looking for something in a lighter colour, but don't want to go with white, have a look at this light camel-coloured tote from Wallis. It's a very elegant bag for just £30 and has almost drawstring-like ruched detailing but maintains a structured style.

Ferrecroc

Simple styling and great tonal leather are the main features of this roomy shoulder bag from Ferre. It comes in black with silver-coloured hardware and a subtle logo charm. I think I'd prefer it without the logo bar at the bottom, but it's quite small and unobtrusive. You can buy it from YOOX for £194.
