Petunia Pickle Bottom's Diaper Bag

Not sure how many of you have little whippersnappers, but I found this delightful baby bag online at Neiman Marcus which is making me pine for a baby! Sadly I've got a fair few years up my sleeve before I have to start worrying about buying baby stuff, but when the time comes, I'm going to get this 'diaper' bag, as you call it in the States, from Petunia Pickle Bottom. Love the name! For the mothers out there, be prepared to sink $175 on this slightly-oriental bag.

    I have 2 PPB bags and have loved them! I've had the same boxy backpack for my son for the past 2 years and it still looks great. Perhaps you do have to be a little more careful with a Petunia bag, but I'll take that any day over having some frumpy baby bag!

  • As a mom who's really excited that having a diaper bag can be considered stylish (thank you Angelina Jolie!), I've been happy with my Petunia Pickle bag. I'm also in the baby-products business, and my experience is that ALL diaper bags get dirty over time. Petunia's material can be washed by hand - this is the price of fashion meeting baby barf!

    While this bag is adorable, I would never buy it. I looked at all sorts of diaper bags when I was pregnant, and the PP's are gorgeous, but bound to look like they've been run over by a truck after a couple of months.



    The problem is the material. It's lovely, it's got great texture, it's going to hold on to dirt, sick, and all sorts of yuck that you can only imagine. If you are a mother looking for a great diaper bag, I suggest you steer clear of this (unless it's washable, but really, when does a new mother have time for that?) and go with something that's more durable.
