This morning Katie and I went to see an exhibition of what students from Central St Martin's College think will be the Nokia phones of the future. The 'all my friends' concept from Jack Godfrey Wood stood out for being...well, a lot like a piece of jewellery. The concept is that each of your contacts is represented by a specially created bead strung on a necklace / keyring / bracelet. Find the bead for the friend you want to call and squeeze it to get connected, using a ring as your microphone / speaker. Sounds crazy, but who knows what the future holds?
The image above is the prototype - visit Shiny Shiny for pics of the full-colour design and more info on the Nokia Design Concept competition.
