If you don’t mind rummaging through the bizarre and impractical for a little gem, Etsy is a good place to look for one-off pieces. It’s like ebay for handicrafts and there are legions of bags and purses on there. Frankly, a lot of it is rubbish, but there are some real treats to be had like this handmade, one of a kind Green Shells Handbag for $40. The maker says she’s not sure if it’s for grannies or hipsters, or indeed hipster grannies. But I think it’s got nice Haight-Asbury vibe about it and the colour’s gorgeous. [Sharon Edge]
