The other week I popped over to trendy Hoxton for the opening of Stori, a fabulous new handbag boutique. As well as stocking the namesake line by designer Myounghee Zo (more on that soon) the shop is also the only current stockist of the gorgeous Sonovi, a slightly younger and funkier range of bags, purses and keyrings which this season come decorated with wings, clouds and smiley faces....
Sonovi brings back a bit of much-needed light relief to the bag world. Everything is beautifully made, reasonably priced considering the workmanship (bags start at about £95), and has a kooky tongue-in-cheek appeal that got me hooked straight away. The gold crescent bag (above) with its smiley face and textured leather wings caught my eye instantly, though the real star piece has to be this lilac and silver bag...
In person, this bag is big, bold and most-definitely a talking point! 3D Metallic 'leaf' bags are big news this season and this is a design that takes the look one step further, with the enlarged wing-like design. The curved shape of the top shows some serious attention to wearability despite the crazy design - it sits perfectly under the arm and on the shoulder so you can show off all that silver detail.
The wallets and purses are equally as intricate and beautiful. There are cute silver wing-shaped wallets lined with pretty cloud-print fabric, and these cute studded purses, which have enough of that signature winged detail on the front to away with that brash metallic pink leather!
If your budget doesn't stretch to a bag, the range of keyrings (from £15) double as cute bag charms (in fact, I've got a smiley heart on my bag as we speak). Wear them on that plain, boring work / school / college bag to show you've got sense of humour!
